2023 Domaine de Fa Blanc, Beaujolais, France
ABOUT THE WINE
Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine comes from a single vineyard in Leynes, planted around 350 meters elevation on limestone-clay soils. The site gives the wine both citrus brightness and a fine, pebble-like mineral core. The grapes are organically farmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged in a mix of stainless steel and used 600L barrels, preserving purity while adding subtle texture.
The 2023 vintage shows notes of citrus, stone fruit, white flowers, and delicate spice. The palate is fresh and lightly creamy, with crisp acidity and a long, chalky finish. Pair with scallops, crab cakes, lemon roast chicken, saffron risotto, fresh cheeses, or vegetable gratin.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine de Fa was established by the Graillot family, best known for their celebrated work in Crozes-Hermitage. In Beaujolais, they bring the same focus on organic farming, whole-site expression, and restrained cellar work. The domaine is certified organic, with a philosophy centered on freshness, purity, and wines that transmit the character of their granite, limestone, and clay-based sites.
