ABOUT THIS WINE
Aged 10 months in barrel. 13% new oak (9% French and 4% American)
The Barrel Blend is put together with the help of Kyle Knox, a great surfer and a wine professional, now with his own distributorship, who loved the idea of âbeing in the barrelâ as both a wine term, and a surfing term. 2019 was a year with roller coaster weather and balanced wines. The Merlot reached maturity at lower Brix numbers, and as usual they added Syrah, Petit Sirah and Zinfandel for added layers of fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon was blended in for dignity, and Pinot Noir for grace. The wine knitted together early, so this wine is expected to come out of the bottle ready to provide entertainment and pleasure for years to come.

Hill Family Estate was born out of the desire for the family to work together â sharing the experience of crafting fine wines that showcased the grapes that Doug farmed and then introducing those wines to the consumer at a tasting room in their hometown, and American foodie capital, Yountville, California.
Doug farms the grapes and helps craft the wine and Ryan runs the sales division, working hard to get the Hill Family Estate wines placed in select accounts for you to enjoy. Carly lives and works in San Diego and hosts tastings and dinners in Southern California. Hill Family Estate is the culmination of Dougâs vision â a way to share his love of the valley, of farming and of wine with his children and wine lovers everywhere. Using inspiration from the top wineries in Napa, Hill Family Estate created their own unique flavors while staying true to Napaâs incredible history.
